Loopie is built on trust. We know that you're sharing your most authentic moments with your closest friends, and we treat that responsibility seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the control you have over it.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information. When you sign up, we collect your phone number to verify your account and your name to display to your friends.
Contacts. With your permission, we access your contacts to help you find and add your friends on Loopie. We do not store your contacts list on our servers unless you choose to invite them.
Photos and Camera. To use Loopie, you must grant us access to your camera and photo library. We collect the photos you choose to send or upload.
Location Data. If you use features like "Public Loopie" or "Event Loopie," we collect your location data to place your moments on the map. You can choose to share this anonymously.
Usage Data. We collect technical data about how you interact with our app (e.g., session duration, crash reports) to help us improve performance.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To Provide the Service: The core of Loopie is sending photos to your friends' Home Screens. We use your photos and friend connections to make this happen.
- To Improve Loopie: We use usage data to fix bugs, prevent crashes, and develop new features that you'll love.
- To Communicate: We may send you updates about new features or important security notices.
3. How We Share Information
With Your Friends. The photos you send are shared with the specific friends you select.
Publicly (Optional). If you post to "Public Loopie," your photo and location will be visible to other Loopie users on the map. You can choose to do this anonymously.
Service Providers. We use trusted third-party services (like Google Cloud, Firebase) to host our infrastructure and store data securely.
Legal Requirements. We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
4. Data Retention
We store your photos and data for as long as your account is active. You can delete specific photos at any time, and they will be removed from our servers and your friends' devices. If you delete your account, all your personal data will be permanently deleted.
5. Children's Privacy
Loopie is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can manage your account settings directly in the app or contact us for assistance.
